Hi! I’m Marissa.

I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LHMC) and owner of Vibrant Therapy in Ankeny, Iowa. I focus on individual therapy. I take a trauma-informed approach while focusing on obsessive-compulsive disorder, perinatal issues, life transitions, grief & loss, depression, and anxiety.

I have a profound respect for using Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) with my clients who have experienced previously negative events in their lives. I also utilize Exposure & Response Prevention (ERP) to work through OCD, anxiety, and phobias.

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a mental health condition characterized by persistent, unwanted thoughts (obsessions) and repetitive behaviors (compulsions). Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) therapy is a specialized form of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) that is considered the gold standard for treating Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). ERP focuses on helping individuals confront their fears (exposure) and refrain from engaging in the compulsive behaviors they typically use to manage that fear (response prevention).
